Holiday
Hotel U HRADU is situated in a convenient location and you can easily get to Bohemian Paradise (Český ráj), Jizerské hory, Krkonoše, and also Prague or Liberec as well. Although Mladá Boleslav is the industrial town, it affords many possibilities to pleasantly enjoy your holiday.
You can visit the ŠKODA AUTO MUSEUM, opened seven days a week. Here you can behold the development of ŠKODA cars, manufactory specials, the prototypes from films and the number of prototypes, which have not gone in mass-production..
Alternatively you can walk round the old city part of Mladá Boleslav. The Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) is dominated by the well-built RENAISSANCE CITY HALL with the sgraffito facade and the SIGHTSEEING TOWER completed by the GHOSTS EXPOSITION. There are two unique church buildings. First, THE CZECH BROTHERS CHURCH (SBOR ČESKÝCH BRATŘÍ), which is built in the grand-scale Renaissance architecture without an analogy somewhere else. Then, THE ST. HAVEL CHURCH (KOSTEL SV. HAVLA), now situated in the picturesque park with still apparent remains of the unique evangelic cemetery, founded in 16th century.
There is the NATURAL PARK ŠTĚPÁNKA here, well suited for walking or running. You can find here the tennis club with a number of tennis courts and the ice-stadium.
As far as you will not be interested in Mladá Boleslav's beauties anymore, you might visit (thanks to the convenient location) the near-by cities as Liberec, Jablonec, Praha, the fairy town Jičín or Doksy with the Macha's lake (Máchovo jezero).
There is the protected landscape area BOHEMIAN PARADISE (ČESKÝ RÁJ) very close to Mladá Boleslav with the number of castles and chateaus and other natural places of interests: Rocky Towns (Skalní města), places of distant outlook etc.
